Our Values
OJWAs operates its functions considering the following core values:
1. Transparency:
OJWA wants to make sure that its programs and
activities are properly documented and accessible to
beneficiaries, clients, and stakeholders. We want to
assure that our partners have a full picture of what
OJWA is planning, and implementing and what are the
impacts of our activities.
2. Accountability and Demand-Driven Programs:
OJWA believes in projects/programs which are originally
initiated by the demands of the community. We want to engage the community
in the initiation, implementation, M&E, and impact assessment of our programs.
All our activities are properly recorded by OJWA and communities to be presented
to our clients and partners. We understand the dire need for our partners to know
the problem analysis, realization, and influences of OJWA programs.
3. Integrity:
OJWA believes in trust building and the long-term sustainability of its programs.
Such an approach primarily rests on the integrity and truthfulness of our organization.
We believe that both internally and externally OJWA will adopt a policy of honest communication
and on-time indications of contingencies, risks, or needs of a program. We will ensure an environment
internally whereby every employee will freely speak their minds and on-time raise their voice regarding
their needs consisting of capacity building or deviations from policies/code of conduct/conflict of interest etc.
Externally we believe that honest communication and true representation of the picture to our stakeholders
and clients is the key to trust-building and strategic partnership.
4. Human Resource Development:
OJWA believes that its employees must develop in terms of technical abilities, leadership,
and management capabilities. OJWA plans to have a definite budget for skill building and training.
The training will be designed after consultation with employees to do a proper needs assessment.
5. Community Engagement:
Community Engagement is the primary pillar of the success and impact of our programs.
OJWA believes in the comprehensive engagement of community members from all ages and groups which includes
but is not limited to community elders, Religious Scholars, women, youth, and others. Such an approach
enables us to do proper needs assessment and smoothly implement our activities achieving the required results and impact.
6. Gender Mainstreaming:
The OJWA Human Resources policy strictly follows gender mainstreaming. We try to engage both genders males and
females in our activities. In our recruitment policy, we give chance to female employees through positive discrimination.
During the implementation phase of our activities, we try to engage communities of all genders and age groups.
